Im having trouble deciding on what kind of quad to get? I love the specs and styling of the Yfz450, But i really want reverse. The thing im confused about is, i like to go in deep mudholes and water as much as i love to make big jumps and race. Does anyone think that they will have an aftermarker reverse kit available? Should i decide on something more like a z400, it has about 10'' of ground clearance and reverse while the yfz450 has only 4.1 or something like that. Can a slightly modded z400 take a yfz450?

 

Reverse is really nice to have on the trails. As for ground clearance, Suzuki measures at the frame not at the bottom of the swing arm like the others. All sports have roughly the same ground clearance = not much. Performance wise I don't know what it would take to make them equal.

 

for trail riding, your really gonna want reverse. id go with the z400. I think the Blaster is the only quad without reverse thats good for trailriding. its so light u can just pick it up and turn it around not heavy at all.

 

i think the z400 is the best trail quad.. soft seat and suspension.. where the 450 has the hardest seat on an atv and a stiff suspension.. the z has all the power you will need if you just want to screw aound on a track with buddies or ride trails..

 

the z 400 has 10 inches at the highest point, by the sprocket there is only about 4 inches.
