96 xplorer 400 rear (small) sproket

hey guys, I have notice that my rear small sproket is loose...is that normal? I can move it around, Thanks for any help!

96 xplorer 400 rear (small) sproket

If it only moves a little, and stops that is normal. The sprocket 'floats' on the splines (within limits).
