Default hanging with a 400EX

First off welcome to the forum!!! I have raced a 400ex when my scram was stock and so was his 400, I got the hole shot but later in the race he passed me up in about 3rd or 4th gear.. Since my mods i have not race yet, the only bad thing is he is moding to....

Thanks for the welcome, just signed up tonight but I am in a lot of other forums (atvnews.com etc.) and thought this one was better for picking up info about scramblers.....how bad did he end up beating you by, like how many quad lengths?

Put a pipe and clutch kit on that scrammy and the ex wont even touch you.

What trailrider said was true, you will get the jump easily, but the EX will definitely catch up in a hurry. But then again, the EX can't go backwards or go through mud. Me and my brother raced at a drag strip a few times (his Scrambler 500 2x4, and my Warrior, both stock) and he would be ahead until I got into fourth, and then by 6th he was about 2 lengths back. The only other area where the EX is better is the track. Take him in the mud or hillclimbs and see what happens.

Stock Warrior could beat a Scrambler? Wow I guess the 400 is much faster than a 500. My Scrambler will eat ANY Warrior I have seen! 400 EX will edge me out, not blow me away, but I will loose.

I was thinking the same thing....the scrammy feels a little faster than my warrior on accelleration and top end....but then again my warrior was a 95 model and a peice of crap at that.
