Default hanging with a 400EX

Well we've raced over and over and done many flat out runs on the dirt roads around here. The top speeds are exactly the same. In acceleration, the Scrambler takes the jump, but the Warrior catches up. I weigh about 140 and my brother weighs somewhere around 210. When we swap, the results are the same on top speed, and the difference is barely noticable on acceleration, probably because he's a better rider than me. If the Scrambler didn't weigh so dang much, it would smoke the Warrior and the 400ex easy.

Very true....it'd be pretty wicked if it wasn't so heavy....you'd be fighting constantly to keep the front end down....but then again you'd lose the added traction the weight gives you in the mud. The weight hasnt really bothered me yet, the power seems to throw it around pretty good. Also.....I havent messed with it yet because the things not really broke in, but how easy are these things to wheelie?? I havent tried it on flat land from a dead stop yet, but I did pull the front end up on an incline and try to ride it and made it maybe 8 feet until I hit the grab bar and knocked her back down. One thing is you'll never have to worry about shifting through a wheelie or hitting a rev limiter

I don't really mind the weight either. It's a fairly top heavy quad, and if it didn't have the weight to keep it on the ground, it would make that problem a lot worse. If they could give it a lower CG, shave some weight, and keep the automatic and 4x4, that thing would be a monster.

I can spank my buddy's Scrambler X with my 400ex. Both only have aftermarket tires and little crap done to them for now.

Oh and for the Record a stock 400ex with absolutely ZERO mods goes a sad 59mph. So Scramblers must be much slower than that.

If you put 2 riders with the same abilities on a 400EX and a Scrambler 4x4 in the mud, the Scrambler will make it through places the 400EX can only dream about....it's just a fact, it doesnt matter how good you are on a 2x4 in a matter of time or if you find some real mud, you WILL get hung up....happend too me dozens of times on my warrior....low ground clearance and lack of 4wd. 2x4 quads are just not ment for hardcore mud, but if you're a good rider you can make it farther than most. The guy on the 4x4 that you passed in the mud must be a , either that or you didn't go through the same place as him.

highoutput4x4 is right i have seen a lot of 400ex and other low ground clearence quads get hung up in easy stuff. rider ability is a factor but not a big one wen you have a 4x4. my families got a 400 scrambler 4x4 and it goes threw snow and mud i can only dream about and it does come in handy when i get stuck

ya reverse isnt for either wen u do get stuck in the mud u just flip in it reverse get urself un stuck and try again. also it helps wen u see the 5 0 comin and u gotta get out of a skinny trail or some other situation when people without reverse have to jump off turn it around then get on(not worth it)
