Default 700 TWIN COOLANT LEAKS

My 700 twin has been to the dealer four times for overheating repairs due to coolant leaks. The machine has less than 1200 miles on it and yes it is leaking again. Has any one else had this much trouble? Have you been able to get it fixed? Luckily I bought the extended warranty but I still get nickled and dimed to death. My '02 700 had the waterpump leak, but since I put the upgraded metal cover on the waterpump, its' been fine. The one problem I have now is there is a tiny oil leak from that same area. It appears to be coming from the waterpump / case area and not the waterpump cover though.

if you've had this into the dealer 4 times, then it sounds like your dealer doesn't know what he's doing! this is an old problem for the sp700 '02 models and some 03's. polaris is well aware of the problem and so should your dealer. try another dealer if they can't get it right.

What he said is true i took mine to another dealer when the one i bought the machine from gave me the run around.the dealer that fixed mine sells polaris only and they seem to have bettercustomer service than the one who sell lots of machines.my machine was never jetted also.

I have mine in the back of my truck now. I just bought it last week. The idle wasnt adjusted properly, seems to be running way to rich, probably needs new spark plugs, and just noticed the coolant leak. I am a little upset it is not even broken in yet. I have 5.5 hrs on the damn thing. I am taking it to the dealer today. Anyone know how long this will take to fix?

Is this your first atv or have you owned others, also my dealer showed me if there"s slack in the thumb throttle it affects your idle you just adjust the cable so theres no slack it helped mine idle better. Its annoying that polaris dosent fix these problems, you shouldent have to go through this with a new machine.

Markie, if you are replying to me, yes it is my first. I just left from Gardiner equipment in Waldorf. I asked the service guy about the throttle adjustment and he didnt think it was that. It wont start with out giving throttle either. I really need to buy a service manual. The owners manual doesnt really tell you a whole lot about adjustments or where and how. I know the carb and idle can be adjusted, but what about the coolant leak. Anyone else having this problem on a 03 600 sportsman?

take a quick look at the bottom of the coolant bottle..theres a fitting that splits or even the bottle may have melted
