Default Rims...10x9 or 10x8

I have a 98 Banshee and am looking for an extra set of rims for it. The tires on it now are bald, which make them great for street riding. I know a guy who is selling 10x8's for a good price. Will I notice much of a clearence difference than the current 10x9's on it now? Is there any pro/cons when going with an 10x8? I do mostly trail/hills and hit the track a few times per month. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

are you going to keep the bald tires on the existing rims, for street use ???

make sure that the offset, & bolt patterns are the same, you should be fine...if you want to install wide tires ( wider than 11" ), & your old tires are not over 11", you may want to swap the tires around...
