Please help!! Raptor Jetting for full sparks with GYTR jetkit
#1
Ok I have a foam pro flow intake and I just installed my full sparks pipe and tried jetting it. I took the air lid off and it ran a bit better but not like it should. It boggs bad in every gear I try and I can't get far in the gears without it bogging. It also doesn't want to idle for long after a minute it shuts off and it hard to start it. Update now it won't start at all
Who ever has a setup like mine and your bike runs good & strong please tell me your jetting setup. If I had to take a guess I would say when it hits mid-range it dies(boggs) really bad. Here is the way I have it setup as of now:
GYTR Jet kit: 155/160 main jets, middle clip on the needle, 27.5 pilot and 3 turns out on the fuel screws, I took the lid off only to see if it would run better but I need to keep the lid on.
Hopefully someone can tell me what to do to get it running how it should.

With the lid on your jetting sounds good. Maybe you tore one of the rubber diaphrams on the top of the carbs when changing needles. Double check everything to make sure it is secure and the way you think it is. With 27 pilots you might be a tad rich on the pilot circuit but I don't think that will create what you describe. Check the diaphrams for tears and insure the needle retainers are secure in their spots etc.

First off drop your pilots to 25's. It will cause bad bogging off the bottom if they're too rich. It will also cause hard starting. Check this before playing with other settings. Fix one problem at a time to know what's working and what's not.

Damn why didn't I find this board before this wkd! Well you just described all the symptoms I was having until now that it won't kick over at all. I'm gonna take it apart and see if that was it. I'll keep you guys updated once I get a chance to do this.

Stock pilots are 22.5 if I remember right, 27.5 is a huge jump. If you still have your stockers try them at 4 turns out on the screws and see if it cleans up. That's the cheapest thing to try. I always ran 25's with good results.

I kind of ran my sentances together in the previous post. When I say turn them in to 1.5 turns out I'm talking of the 27's. I have my stock ones at 3 and 3 1/4 turns out. Good luck. Hope you get it figured out.
Could be as simple as the carbs not seated in the carb boots all the way as well.

This is my first time attempting to jet a bike so let me make clear what were exactly talking about. When you guys tell me to drop my pilots 25 or even stock and then say a certain amount of turns out do you guys me the main pilot or the air screws? What I did with the 27.5 pilot I turned it in until it was tight like a regular screw. Did I mess that up?

Were talking of the fuel/air screw. Turn it in until it lightly seats then turn it back out however many turns you want to try. The pilot jet works in conjunction with the air screw and how many turns out from seat you go.

I'll try going down to 25's and see if that makes it better if not down to stock. So the main jets sound right when using the GYTR jet kit? Sparks told me to use 146/148 when using dyno jet, but they said they did't know what to use when using GYTR. I asked on different message board and they said use the numbers that are close to the 146/148.
