Default Brakes?

I have lost the rear brakes a couple of times while TT racing, but I may have been riding them way too much. The stock brake system has always been "powerful" enough for TT racing for me, ie: they always lock up the tires, but the machine just won't stop as quick as the rest of them because of the weight. So, I have been going to lighter weight components to help solve this problem. For me, if the brakes are locked and the machine still isn't stopping, I can't ask the brakes to do any better.

The other problem is that, typically, I am going faster at the end of the straight away than anyone else, so I'm trying to come down from a higher speed. So, using the power of the DS to get off the corner instead of top end speed has been another objective....using compression, cams, exhaust, porting, stroke.... to "move" the power to the lower RPM range.

Are you TT racing or motocrossing?

I´m a TT racing, in Spain the races have 270 miles in one day and the Baja Aragón 560 miles, and the average speed is 41 miles/h.
This race have a lot of strights, then the brakes lose power.

TT racing in Spain! I race 6-10 laps on a 1/2 mile tt track and think I'm going to fall off the 4 wheeler by lap 6. How have you been finishing? Are there many DS650's running?

The TT Racing or RAIDS, in Spain have 2 laps around 124 miles each one. I finished all the races and in 2002 my position was 6 place.
There are 7 or 8 DS 650 in each race, and people who go to the Paris Dakar.
