350 powervalve stroker 250r vs 400cc cheetah
#1
i was at glamis a week ago and i saw a ct 350 powervalve 250r beat a 400cc cheetah banshee! it wasnt even close, they even switch riders. does the counter-balanced 250r motor really respond that well to mods?

My Banshee is not a slouch running a 4.87 on 300ft dirt. My wife's R runs right next to it until we really start stretching them out then the twin cylinder starts inching away. Hers is only a 330. They can be made to run.

Banshee's pretty straightforward. Standard bore, cool head with 19cc domes on race gas, twin 35 PWK Keihins, Toomey T-5 pipes, and I did the porting on it.Oh..... and advanced the timing on it. The wife's R was originally ported by ESR in the trx-9 version. When I had it down last time I redid the porting to my liking. Much better midrange and top end after doing that. We race at a local drag place and travel to other fairly local places to race. We go usually one state away to race as well. The single cylinder motors make a ton of torque and that will get the bike moving better. From what I've observed in the single versus twin runs is that a lot of the times the single will holeshot out a little better but the twins make a little better speed on the top end. Cant take anything away from the singles. We saw 2 different 370 Gas R's run a 4.6 range at Atoka raceway in OK on 300 feet sand. Bubba
