I picked up my YFZ45o tonight

I'm in love. I rode it around the block and I just about $hit myself with the power. The salesman at teh dealership told me to take the baffle out of the muffler right away to make it run better. Any new owners do that? I have to wait till after xmas for my pipe, and I feel this could be a quick way to get a tiny bit more power.

Will I have to Rejet if I just do the baffle? And if I pull the lid I know I will have to re jet, but will I have to change the pilot, main and needle, or can I just slice the neede up a clip?

You can make free mods to the YFZ and you will definately notice a difference!
1. Remove the pea shooter from the exhaust.
2. Remove the air box lid.
3. Do the cam mod.
4. Jet the bike correctly for all the above.
5. Take the slack out of the throttle cable.
6. Turn up the idle a bit.
And, last but not least.........ride the hell out of it!!!

I would not do the cam mod.
Several differnt guys have come and gone here that have stopped by to ask what to do after they had problems with the cam mod.
Several people have blowed up their YFZ's with the cam mod, and several other problem's have risen as well.

I have heard that too. I am not touching the motor on this. And really I don't wanna mess with the carb right now either. I took the baffle out of the pipe, and I'm gonna pick up a k&N today. Good bye airbox lid.

I agree, don't touch the filter or pipe unless you re-jet.
To do the pipe and not do the air filter is like going and eating a big dinner and putting a cork up your a$$.
What happens to a fire when you first put on a bunch of wood (adding fuel!) You get a bunch of smoke - rich condition
Opposite of that is when that fire starts to turn to coals, what happens? It gets real hot and doesn't smoke at all (lean condition).
Next time you are camping throw an aluminum can on the fire when it is rich and when it is lean and see which way it melts quicker. Remember, your piston is aluminum!!!
Enjoy your new Y but, take care of the jetting.
