i was looking at all the graphs from dirtwheels on there pipe shoot out...and i realized that the FMF has the best power/weight... not peak power though b/c who cares about that im takling about the 4,000rpm range..is FMF a good choice?

 

You would be better off with the curtis sparks pipe, excellent all the way around. The Yoshimura is also an excellent pipe.

 

how do you figure? ct produces less HP at 4,000 RPM and weighs almost double the weight of the FMF?

 

Every raptor I've raced with an FMF exhaust I beat. I have the GYT-R slip-on...So take it for what its worth..

 

gyt-r wasnt int he shootout but i KNOW it produces more low end

I have a friend with a firdt gen Curtis sparks pipe W/ the disks and it has given me the best race out of ANY raptor I have EVER gone against. His powerband is strong for the entire curve.

 

4000rpm is kinda low to judge max power i think.. try more like 6-8 for a 4-stroke... i think..

CT is not curtis sparks...........
and I can tell you that I have never ridden/raced any piped raptor with as much power as a sparks piped one.....

a guy that lives about 2 miles from me had a 02 rappy with sparks pipe, no lid, and jetted perfectly.........
and he never got beaten by any piped raptors.........I saw him (with my own eyes) outrun a 03 raptor with the Graydon Proline(identical to the CT)
I also saw him put 2 lengths on an alba piped 03
and 4 lengths on a DMC Alien 03

for MX I think I would run the DMC pipe.....it has GOBS of bottem end power!
