Default Just got new baja x....HELP!

Hey guys,

I have always ridden a raptor and been happy with the bike, but just came across a brand new baja x for a steal of a deal, so broke down and got it... Now I have never been one to settle for stock.... So my question is this, what are the few things I myself can do to get better sound and performance... I still have my piped Raptor LE, will the baja x beat it and outperform it? Thanks. Also, which pipe has everyone agreed is best? Cool.

I've seen dyno results and the big gun really puts out or you could be really smart and get the MRHP modded encap and ported intake and you'll be bike lengths ahead in motion and money.

After my next visit to the dunes I'll be able to say just how much difference there is with the porting & billet end cap. The end cap is seriously a work of art that is being put to use.

I look forward to BlackHawk's report on the end cap and ported intake mods. I don't know if I should spend the money (tax time) for the Trinity Stage IV full exaust or contact MrHP for the end cap and ported intake mods. Decisions...Decisions...

Oz,

You and me both! I'm really wanting to get out somewhere to ride (tomorrow even) however I have a feeling it will be after Christmas. If you do end up buying one of those caps you WILL be suprised at how mice it is. I think this thing should be hanging on the wall or something instead of my exhaust. I don't know if you read my other posts about it, but I'm really suprised that an end cap this wide open isn't louder - my WB E-Series with 18 Discs (also newly added 6 discs for 18 total up from 12 stock) was notably louder even though it -looks- like it would be more silent.

I looked at Wal-Mart and two other kitchen stores for some sort of strainer that will work as a spark arrester however I haven't found the hot ticket yet.

BartlettRacing: Let me know what you find in reference to the strainer. Most of the places I ride require a spark arrestor. The Bomb muffler says USFS on it so the strainer will work if checked by DNR police.

Hey, blackhawk, how bout trying a piece of window screen. It has about the same hole spacing as a spark arrestor, and you can make it any shape you want. Just make sure you don't buy the plastic screen.

BajaIowa,

That is probably the best idea. I was thinking of buying a large strainer then cutting it and making it fit - that would be the same amount of work and a lot more cost than going to the hardware store, buying generic metal screen and using a small piece of that - after which I'll have a lot left over in case I need to make another spark arrester. I'm thinking I should be able to nail that down this weekend, if it looks good maybe I'll snap some pics of it.
