well Cobra pipes are probably the cheapest. I don't know how much power they give but they are cheap! they are also very loud!

you want cheap, try this:

(conditions permitting)

1. drill 5 3/4 inch holes in the air box lid
2. remove the spark arrestor from the stock muffler
3. walk down to the nearest motorcycle dealer and buy bigger main jets (126,128,130 or closest available)
4. install new main jet, properly adjust carb

much improved throttle response, your cost: $5 plus a Saturday afternoon( hopefully a rainy one so as not to interfear with riding the damn thing)

later

THis is what i did:
I put a FMF Performaxx Pipe on it. Most agree that its as good as a supertrapp. I also put a K&N air Filter in. Then jet the carb. (thatll take a while though). Drilling holes in the Airbox lid could help too, but i didnt do that

Alibaba, I was thinking about fmf megamax too> Do you have a header pipe on it, if so what brand, because I don't think fmf makes a header pipe for the 300ex? What size jet do you have?
THANKS.

Well, I only got the pipe, jet kit, and air filter. I recommend the MegaMax for price and power. The pipe itself gets incredibly hot though, and may melt some of the plastic, but its nearly unnoticeable. And I suppose that happens with most pipes.
Note that mine is a 98 with the old 29mm carb, so my jet kit was for that one.
