Advice for newbie wanting to start?
#1
I am 15 years old (nearly 16) and live on the Texas coast. I have been wanting to race quads since I first began riding, however, I don't know how to get started. I have a Yamaha Grizzly 660 but of course that doesn't keep up with sport quads and isn't for racing. I don't have the money to buy a sport quad since i am already paying for my pickup that I got recently. I need my 4x4 but really wish there was someway to get the money or a quad to race. Does any1 have any ideas as to how I could race? Would any1 be looking for an experienced rider to race their quad? Thanx, Jared

Twisted,
I think GNCC requires all ATV racers to be at least 16 years old as of Jan 1 of the race season. You should check out the rules at the gncc website.
You might also want to check out the local harescrambe/cross-country race series at www.atvccs.com I am probably going to race my Prairie 650 in the utility class at the Jan 31st GNCC and then run the Houston series (south divistion) in the atvccs. Should be lots of fun!
