Calling Bombardier Customer Service
#1
It has come to this. I am thinking of seeking legal action against Bombardier for all the problems with my DS650. I have had it in the shop for 46 of my 99 days of ownership. I am a strong backer of "it is a new machine, things happen" theory. But I take it to get fixed and within the week something else goes wrong with it. I have been experiencing all sorts of problems. The latest is the electrical problems. It blew a light and I took it apart and the wiring was charred. I then called the dealership and said it needed work (5th time in the shop they know my voice on the phone). They fixed it and I got it back today. Tonight the light blew again and a screw with a spacer came off the cowl. I have been dealing with Bombardier for compensation for my down time. They offered me a measly 1 month extended warranty. First question, is the DS650 built as good as the Traxter, if so where is the year warranty on the DS? Second, what all does it take to get them to take back this machine and replace it with a new one? I think I have a lemon but never have wanted to admit it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would investigate the "lemon law" for your state. It can vary significantly from state to state. Unfortunately, more cases than none, to be classified as a lemon you must experience the same problem within a given amount of time (not different problems). Honestly, with the example you gave us, it sounds like the Dealer is incompetent in regards to repairing your bike "right" the first time. However, I understand you've experienced numerous unrelated issues.
I would continue to gripe to Bombardier Customer Service. Be assertive, but not rude. Inform them, you're afraid the bike will continue to have problems throughout it's life and will never run 100%. Also tell them you think it's a lemon and would greatly appreciate Bombardier to back up it's good name by helping you resolve the issue (whether that means a new bike or different service center).
