Help with noise in Raptor Rear Brakes!
#1
I have a 2003 Raptor that has about 8-10 hours on it.
When I drive down the road, there is a very loud squeek coming from what I belief is the rear brakes.
If I put the rear brake on slightly, the noise goes away.
It is really loud and kinda embarrassing when I pass someone at slow speeds.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this noise?
Thanks

I checked it and it doesn't wobble. It looks perfectly straight!!!
Awhile back, a friend told me there are some rubber boots (?) or something else that holds the calipar on which require grease every once in awhile or the rear brakes get noisy.
Does anyone have info on this?

try removing your pads and using some sandpaper on the edges of the pad.
this should help (if it is the pad/rotor contact creating the problem)
Also, (on a new bike), be sure your axle nut is tight and that the lock nut is secure. (they have a tendency to loosen which destroys the bearings and carrier)
the shock bolt (lower) will squeak also (as mentioned). I wont hurt to take that out, anti-seize the shaft, lock-tite it, and re-torque it.
You may as well check all your bolts after 10 hours. (torque) (they have a tendency to loosen) (on any new bike)
