im pretty sure its:
more teeth=faster top end
les teeth=faster acceleration

dont know what the diff would be if u got a new sproket with like 1-3 more/lees teeth

Depends what you do. You could calculate your speed difference by dividing the teeth on the new sprocket by the number of teeth on the old sprocket. You could probly pull another tooth.

I am pretty sure that 1 tooth bigger on the front is the same as 3 smaller on the back. Just saying that because it may be cheaper for a front sprocket then rear.

Dudeman! Here's the xcoop on 300EX sprocket fixes...

Stock is 13 front and 38 rear with 22 inch tires right! ----------- About 55 miles an hour...

Change your gearing and tires to this and reach 65-70 depending if you are running a good aftermarket headpipe and sliencer...

Do a 14 Tooth Front Sprocket with a 36 rear sprocket and down your rear tire size to a 20 inch to regain some wheel torque and watch it go like a raped ape...
