i spoke with rick yesterday and he told me to run the 150 main and i should be fine i just tried to run it and it had no power at all so i was wondering what others are running im at about 600 feet above sea level and its like 15 degrees out side. the only thing i can think of is that i still have the 87 octain fuel in it could this be the prob?

You should always richen it in the winter due to the colder temps. With the colder air its more compact so your taking in more air into the engine at once..making it run lean if you dont richen it. Atleast thats what i think.... this is most important on 2-strokes being more sensitive to tempature and jetting changes..and if its runs rich, in the winter itll lean out from the colder air.

Even if you are a little lean you should still have lots of power. You may have a problem with the clutch setup. It is very critical that the secondary is set up right or you will lose power. Even with the 87 octane it should have power. With all the mods that I have I am running a 170 main.

running lean gives u more power.....but there is also a big risk of smoking a piston. When jetting is spot on from the bottom it should lag just a little..thats when its good for elevation and tempatures.

ok i took the snorkal off the air box and that really seemed to help. the rpms really got high and the power was there but i think i am still going to switch to the 160 to be safe..

taking off the snorkel leans things out a bit..on my 400 I did and it made it run just a tad bit lean....
