Newbie signing in w/ DS ?'s
#1
I'll start out with a "Hi everybody", and then start asking questions!!
First ? is fairly simple;
Does anybody know the length of the DS650 a-arm, (stock arm from the frame pivot to the balljoint)?
Second is a little more involved;
I know the DS uses a single 42mm carb and that some people are running a lectron 46hv carb and some are running a TM45, (Mikuni?).
Here's the story, I'm thinking about building my own single carb setup for a Yamaha Raptor and I'd like to find a starting place as far as carb size/type/brand/etc.
Basically I'm looking to pick anybody's brain that could give me any good information about something like this.
I've just emailed lectron carbs for a recomendation from him and thought I'd post it here too.
I could also use any pictures of a DS carb setup too, stock or otherwise.
Thanks in advance guys! Excellent forum BTW!

Hey man, welcome to the forum! You should talk to "Ward660R" on the Yamaha Forum about the single carb set up. He used to run a 2 into 1 intake with a single 44MM Lectron Carb. He will tell you what you need to know.
