Default Its Now Texas Law

If you ride even near a Texas Waterway and the Police or a Fishcop sees you... u can get a ticket or even worse.
What is a Texas Waterway ? I am still looking for the legal defination.
Dallas CH. 8 ran a terrible story on ATVs last Fri. night. Showed somebody " tearing up the earth " on an atv with a Skull and Crossbones on the front. all in front of a reporter. SICK.
I promptly sent them about a 100 word email protesting such unfair reporting. Of course, it wont matter a hill of beans to them.
The problem started with just a few bad eggs, now it affects us all.
Did you send State legislaters even an email giving your opinion ? If you didnt... shame on you !
Why oh why good intelligent ATV riders wont stand up for themselves is beyond me. Now we will all suffer a black name and a black eye in our State.

Because everyone is so concerned with "my rights".....as was told to me by an infamous one on here: You're rights end where my nose begins.

If we would police our own much better there wouldn't be near as many problems for the anti's to home in on.....then again if a frog had wings.......

If our representative organization would stand up to those who do these kinds of things would be of great help as well.....but they won't even commit one way or the other on helmets/age req's/etc.... If they would support heavy fines/impoundment of those caught doing stupid things.....

This covers it pretty well. It' in the Land, Trail and other Enviromental threads, titled"Info on new ban against ATV on TX rivers", if this link doesn't work. Click on the link he has posted for a more detailed explaination. Thanks to Mikeyboyesq for the original post.

wow, that really sucks. I have to cross a shallow creek to get the the trails I ride. I guess I just have to make sure the coast is clear before I cross.

Noooooo, just build a little bridge of cinderblocks and creek rock....make it a summertime "cool down" effort.

I was worried about creeks too, but it has to be 30 feet wide (bank to bank). Now I guess I've got to put a tape measure in my tool kit.

I was told by a Fishcop that the banks of a stream are also included. Even he didnt offically know. It seems to him that the 30 ft only meant the water width and did not include the number of feet of bank on each side that is also included in the law.

It includes any stream beds. The way I read the law (and I need glasses), it would include the area to the top of the bank. The link in my earlier post has a better definition.
