Default To Oil Or Not To Oil (pod filter)

If I'm running a UNI two-stage pod filter with a waterproof Outerwear, do I need to oil the filter element, or do I run it dry??

Thanks for the help!!

No foam filter can stop dirt without the proper foam filter oil. It forms a tacky layer that traps dirt in the outside of the filter and keep it from going on through to the carb and motor. The Outerwears stops the big chunks and water from plugging up the filter too fast. The Outerwear will keep water and a bunch of dirt away from the filter, but some will still get through, so the oil on the foam will keep that out of your motor.

So do I oil both the inner and outer elements, or do I just oil the outer element of the dual-layer pod filter??

Just oil it like normal, then put the Outerwears over it, then you're all set for wet and dirty riding.

It's a dual-layer filter though. It has an inner element and an outer "pre-filter" element. Do I need to oil both of these elements, or do I just oil the outer "pre-filter" element?? Thanks!!

Oil both, the outer one catches the big stuff, the inner one catches fine dust and sand.
