Just curious. If you have 300 to 400 to put towards a new quad purchase a month, why don't you have any money? If you saved 400 a month for 2 years you'd have $9600.00 to pay off a quad and you wouldn't have any interest. Maybe you should just put $350. away a month for 18 months (1.5 yr) and then you'd have $6300.00 to purchase a new quad. A year and a half goes by fast and you'd have a quad clear of any debt.
If you get a loan for a $6300. machine at 6.9% interest-- 4 years, $150.57/ month payment, you pay $927.32 total interest = $7227.32.
2 years, $281.78/ month payment, you pay $462.76 total interest = $6762.76.
1.5 years, $369.43/ month payment, you pay $ 349.73 total interest = $6649.73.

People over extend themselves and purchase items they can't afford. They treat credit cards like it's free money and dig themselves a huge hole. In the title it says: "don't have money". Then the message says: "wanna pay 300-400 monthly". If someone had enough money to pay 300- 400 then they should have enough to save some money. Someone might not have anything saved and had recently combined their bills to get one low interest rate or/and one lower monthly payment. Sometimes this makes them think that they now have extra money. Then they go out and purchase something else which brings them back to square one and deeper in debt. It's important to get credit card debt or loan debt in check before purchasing anything that would make the situation worst.
I'm not trying to criticize anyone. I just think that people should take control of their finances for their own peace of mind. I'm also obviously going on assumptions.

Amen Brother, I agree one hundred percent. My wife and I buy a major purchase we pay it off quick, example, she wanted a Ford Expedition to haul the kids around so she found one she liked and paid for it in just over a year. I bought a Kodiak and paid for it in 4 months. We never buy anything we can not pay off in short term, the truck was the longest not counting the house but that will be paid of in 10 years rather then 30. Focus on paying cash or shorterm loans and you will be miles ahead. I got a good friend who sa my Kodiak and now is getting one and just this weekend he went riding his dad's snowmachine and is also trying to buy one of those as well. He constantly complains he does not have enough money at the end of the week but he heard you can get 80 a month payments and thinks that is doable, yeah for 5 years and unbelievable interest piled on top. Watch your interest rate going with the dealer or manufacturer financing.... usually they are just revolving credit accounts and the interest is outrages. If you've got half way decent credit at all go to a bank and apply for a loan, you'll do much better on the interest.
