I'll probably purchase the Honda 3 year extended warranty for my 400EX. I was wondering if there is a standard price???...or does it vary by dealership? Post what you paid if you don't mind. Thanks.

 

It was 500 dollars at my dealership, but I b*tched and moaned and they knocked it down too 400 dollars. But I still dont know how much the warranty is really worth. Later

 

I've found that the price for an extended warranty is a negotiable item, so don't pay them the full price. I paid $300 for a 36-month warranty, and the same dealer wanted $400 for a 48-month warranty. Not sure if it's really worth it, but it's probably good insurance should something drastic happen to the engine or transmission. Make sure to check with the dealer as far as what they consider to be normal wear-and-tear though, as they wouldn't cover a bent shock on my son's Fourtrax 90. It wasn't as though he was getting major air or something, but it bent when he came down off a small berm. Anyhow, took it to another dealer who got it covered at no charge.

 

I'm going to pick up my Rubicon this evening. The warranty prices the dealer quoted me were $540-42 Month. $440-30 Month. $380-18 Month.
These all begin after the factory 6 month warranty is over. Can't wait to ride my Rubicon!!!

 

It's a neg item. The dealer knocked off 100 when I got my rancher a few months ago.

 

The $540 warranty is the same as I got thru my dealer.

 

The dealer wanted $450 for my Rancher. I had heard but not comfirmed, that you can sometimes shop around & get a better price, especially if you live in a area that has several Honda dealers.

ALSO, REMEMBER, you DO NOT have to purchase the extended warrenty at the same you get the quad. You can get it any time during the first 6 months.

 

On my Fourtrax 300 it was like 500-800 for 4 years.

 

I bought two Honda Rubicons from two local Honda dealers and paid $570 dollars for 2 42 month warranty's + tax.

 

I paid $295 for 42 months on my Rancher ES 4x4
the dealer said that was his cost.I am not usually the kind of person that buys these X-warranties but that was pretty cheap.He said that he would give me the same deal on my Rancher ES 2x4
