400 outlander pro & con ?

Pro's: you already know if you've been riding one
Cons: they say the plastic scratches easy, but that is do to one of its Pros- the plastic is soft so it doesn't break. Don't know of any other problems except the early ones had a warranty issue with an annoying clicking in the rear torsion bar

The torsion bar clicking was just on the first production runs. If you find one from the early production runs, it is easily fixed, and should be fixed under warranty before you buy it.
It will run about 57, 58mph, kinda depends on the weight of the rider.

I had my outlander up to 62 mph... its gets to 40-45 like a bullet slows to 50 then it creeps up to 62...had to have been around 1/4 mile to get to 62 but that is I guess the top speed. Im sure the bigger bore they are working on now will have 70+ hopefully anyway...
There are many pros to the machine.. It handles like a champ... even with the 400 I can easily keep up with big bores on all kinds or trails because of the rear suspension soaking up everything it allows you to hit things much harder and corner like a dream for a utility machine The only Cons I see are the body panels on the green models scratching so so so easily and being so visible...and maybe the lack of things that will easily attach to the plastic racks...(of you have to spend 75.00 to get the metal tube rack to attach to the plastic one)..and that the stock tires are junk.. but as for the softness of the body on it, I have had a tree branch bend my front fender near my foot totally back and it didnt even crease it (or leave a mark)... and I unfortunately was in a accident with it and put it off a 20 ft cliff and the only body damage was some scratches... im comparison my friends kfx700 took a gentle roll and snapped the entire rear body piece.... so sacrificing looks for durability is a personal opinion I guess... i guess if it was hard plastic I would have had a broken body and needed to pay for that instead I just have a ton of scratches... so many its a pro not a con...
I have had to have several warrenty issues handled... Ive had the torsion bar fix, the volt reg moved and a new battery installed (due the the bad volt reg toasting it) but those are I guess expected problems with a new model and they all were fixed at no cost to me under warrenty...
oh and the free 3 year warrenty on mine was a plus...
