I was just wondering on a quarter mile drag race between the two of them, which one would win.

 

our raptor tops out at bout 71 or so in the quarter mile and it has a 12t front sprocket

 

I think the YFZ would beat the Raptor in a quarter mile drag. The Raptor does have more top end, but the YFZ will have accelerated up to it's top speed in no time at all and the Raptor will start to slowly take it. I also hear that the YFZ has enough power to go up one tooth on the front sprocket and still beat the Raptor on take off.

 

a yamaha saleman said the yfz has a top speed of 80 depending on the rider and conditions.

 

Plain and simple, he LIED! They can't go over 75 from factory, this applies to all ATV's! It's the law..........

i though he was full of $hit. everyone says the rappy has a higher top speed which is around 72. that d@mn stealership!!

my stock ds top speed is 80
and my friends new baja's can go even more with there extra rpm
rappy is maybe not built to more than 75 stock...

 

I raptor will beat a yfz in the 1/4 mile. The Raptor has more top end, and the yfz doesn't get more then 2-3 bike lenghts ahead through the gears.

 

Alright where did you measure it? Don't tell me beside a car...
