digital cameras

Sorry guys...I know this is a atv sight but since I will be using this camera to take pictures of my 4-wheeler it's ok to ask about it right?
I thought some of you could help me with this, I'm going to buy a digital camera and I'm looking at the Sony Mavica MVC-FD73. It uses floppy disks whitch would be really nice and easy, but some say the picture quality is not very good. Do any of you own the camera that can comment on it? Or is there a better one out there? I've got around $500 to spend.

I have one of the Sony Mavia(may have mispelled) and the quality is great, there are several settings for different type pictures. My brother also has one and sends us pictures of our mom's flowers(lilies) looks like the real thing. If I can find your e address I will send you one of his pics then you can decide. I have taken pictures on a 4x4 mud ride and they also turned out great.

Benelli,
I don`t know much about the Sony but, I use the Nikon 950. You won`t believe the picture quality and features of this cameras. My 8x10s are printed with a Lexmark Z51 and even with a 10x Loupe you would swear you were looking at a print from a negative. Since Nikon came out with the 990 the price of the 950 has droped to around $650. Worth every penny I paid around $900 for mine just 6 month ago. If your name means what I think I does then you know quality. I have the Benelli M3 .

benelli,
You don't show an email address or I'd ship you a pic I took with my Mavica 83. I'm not sure of the difference between the two models but the 83 has several options for pic quality from 640 to 1200 pixels plus email, audio, & video. The only objection I have is that they have no view finder...only the lcd screen whic is a little problem in bright sun light.

My e-mail address is m1tactical@netzero.net I'd like to see some pic if you would send them.
The reason my e-mail address don't show up is because it's not the right one anymore.
Thanks for the comments guys.

I have a Kodak DC 290 (or something like that). Very nice camera. Just get as many Megapixels as you can afford. I love the digital cameras!

You can buy a printer to print them. HP makes one called the HP PhotoSmart (or something along that line). It is made specifically for digital pictures. You can also make a photo album on a CD. I do that with family pics to send to relatives that dont live around me.

I used my buds Sony Mavica FD-88 and that thing was great. Also does small mpegs. If you hunt around you may be able to find it. 1248 was max res. Now around $450-500.
Buuuuut.... Since he wouldn't let me borrow it for my trip and I missed it. "Get This" I got a sony Cyber shot with 64 meg memory sticks. I think it's a Cs-70 for$799 and $100 for the floppy adapter. It will do 90 second mpeg movies to 2048 res at 3.3 megapixal. (Gona mount it to my helmet)
Any one of the Mavicas is great(It's a sony!) But the Fd88-Fd90 have more bang for the buck. look on e-bay for price comparison. Wallmart seemed high in price for the low end sony.FD-73 $499
Oh, I have the HP PhotoSmart 1100-xi, And there is no driver for windows 2000-pro. Arrrrg. Just 98
