New Tires for New Prairie
#1
I just replaced my 02 Prairie 650 with a 04 Prairie 700. I want to immediately replace the junk stock tires with some 6 ply's. On my last Prairie, I put 26" ITP 589's on steel wheels. I was pleased with the mud performance but didn't like the floatiness going down trails at higher speeds. I would also rather put the new tires on my stock rims because I did't like the excessive bumpsteer with the wider offset rims. I am looking for a good trail tire that will also do better in the mud than the stock dunlops. I also want the best rooster taling tire because a couple of the new guys I ride with are pretty cocky and a little mud in the face might show them the Prairie 700 is king. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

run the mudrunners... If you run theses tires you have to be carefull but you can throw boulders.. dead serious. I only do that when no one is behind me... On plan ground with front brakes on loosely in high range 2wd I threw dirt 34 feet behind the bike. It went down so fast I couldn't get myself out I had to winched out of the hole I dug. BTW I run the 25" you don't have the clearance but you got the trail tire.

The ATR's will run shorter than 25", unless they are over inflated... I ran 26" Mud Runners on my '02 Prairie, before I did any performance mods... they were true to size, & didn't noticably rob much power ... IMO, they are one of the best all around tires available... & they wear like Iron, even if your are aways 2 WD roosting your slower riding buds ( like I did also )...
