i was changing sprockets yesterday and my chain came apart on me.. i noticed that the clip that holds the master link together was gone.. no biggie.. i cleaned my chain and thru it back on today.. put the link on just w/o the clip that holds it tight because my buddy had some extras at his house.. so i was gonna load it into my truck and any1 that knows me knows that i am too lazy too push it.. so i drove it.. very slow knowing that the chain could come loose... well.. it did... and jammed up and broke the casesaver and chain guard right off the dam engine... i was only going 2 mph.. and it had enought force to snap it off!!!!!! needless to say i had a few choice words say and pushed the pile back into my garage.
so now.. do you think JB weld or something like that would be able to hold it on there?
or any ideas.. i could get it welded i supose... kinda hard to find some1 to do it around here tho.

That sucks hozed. I suppose you could get it welded, but you may also think of buying an hpd chain saver as an upgrade too.? Just a thought. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Brad

stock case saver... 1.50$
Hpd case saver.. 30ish?
ill go stock.. lol
the case saver did its job just fine.. but it held so well.. that it broke off the engine..
i didnt think JB welb would work.. worth a shot tho.. if i cant weld it then i would need to get a new case.. i dont feel like spending 500$ right now tho...

yeah no kidding. The only thing better is that they are lighter, probably like an ounce, and they make the chain run closer to the sproket, so the chain will just go on around if it comes off. but anyways, kinda sounds like a rip off to me too. Brad

I tried JB Weld on my Raptor with the thought that if it didn't hold, I'd have it welded. It held up for 6 months and then I sold the engine. I cleaned both sides of the break real well with a little wire brush on a Dremel and then wiped them down with Acetone. I applied the JB Weld and "clamped" the case saver in place with a couple of strong zip ties for a couple of days. I don't think the JB Weld would hold up to a chain breaking but then again, neither did the stock case mounting tab. Any welding shop should be able to weld it back on if you decide to go that route.
