wisco piston

i just bought a wisco piston std bore for my 400 sport it says that i need to hone it in i just don'get how you hone a std size piston into a std size bore

You need to hone the cylinder to brake any glazing you may have so that the rings seat properly..

If you are not sure or never done this before your local machine shop can do this for you...

i just bought one too and i dont think theres anything wrong wit my cylinder because my quad still runs perfect. but wen i put it in and theres nothing wrong wit the cylinder wall i cant just install it?

I would have it honed just to be on the safe side, even if the cylinder looks perfect the rings would seat better with the cylinder being honed... There is a difference between boring and honing...

so can i take it to a machine shop and just tell them to hone it?? how much would it cost??

Yeah you can take it to them, Not sure on the cost for just a hone.. My machine shop charged me $55 for boring and honing my cylinder...
