700 Polaris

I would suspect that the Polaris drivelines, be it sport or utility, would have to be redesigned to handle the additional power. Can you imagine the current Sportsman driveline/chasis with 700cc power trying to turn 27" Vamps.....can you say "SNAP"? Should be interesting.

My friend went to the polaris dealer and they know
there is a 700cc coming !!
But what model ?? SPORT or UTILITY or BOTH ???
It will be good for the brand if they can
put the 700cc in the scrambler 4X4 !
I may canceled my RAPTOR order for the 4X4 700 ??

Who here who owns a SP500 thinks that they need another 200 CC's? Because i am very satisfied with my 500s power.....
And im not some guy that just tools around on a farm.....yes i am only 13 yrs old but i ride quite hard.....all you old timers out there probably think im some arrogant kid but take it from me i ride just as hard as a lot of you out there and i dont really see a need for more power...yes this is not banshee but hey its a ute
So once again who thinks the 700 is a true need in there collection of toys?

The power is not really "needed" it's the thought that you've got the extra power at your disposal,if WANTED. Anyone with a SP has had the throttle bottomed out; And then thought, "man if it just had a little more". LOL Same goes with any motorized device. Weed-Eaters,mowers, tractors, cars, etc. take care Polcat

Well I must admit I am really satisfied with my 500cc sportsman, well if it made the bike bigger adding the 700cc motor no I don't want anything to do with it. Well if I could get a bike like this with the same weight and same size, yes I could go for that. I have pushed the throttle to the max a lot of times and wish it went a little farther, but you also got to realize it would be some mind blowing take off power, like the 400cc 2 stroke I was rideing last week. I really couldn't notice any top end difference out my bike which is the Sportsman 500cc auto but the Sportsman 400cc 2 stroke did have some better out of the hole power, you know the 0 to 30 thing.
Then again you could always hot rod your Sportsman a few things faster
1. cam out of the scrambler
2. change from a 32mm to a 40mm carb
3. k&n air filter
4. change the springs in your clutch
5. after market exhaust (though I have heard from
forum it didn't help much
6. Go to the aftermarket rims
7. Buy a scrambler but do without the cushiony IRS
ride and no low gear
Maybe I will start a post on souping up your sportsman.
700cc no extra weight no bigger bulkier body like on of the competitors, then put me down for one, a few things I would like to see on a new machine is:
1. A lighter machine
2. BETTER TIRES ON AT LEAST, YOU HEAR THAT pOLARIS
3. More control of the TRUE 4 wheel drive control
I think one of the guys in the forum had on
this one.
4. Some shocks that are adjustable in the front,
for god sake get rid on those heavy struts
5. Put some of the maintenace stuff easier to get
to
6. Put EBC pads on at the factory
7. Make a version called idestructable instead of
the fancy duck unlimited and camo version you
know one strong back bolts, ebs pads, better
mud protection on sides and rear, well you get
the point.
