Please help with Flywheel 400ex
#1
Hello I finally got my 400ex into the shop to have all my goodies installed. I was gonna run my headpipe up to LRD to have it ceramic coated. I was discussing this with the service manager and he reminded me about the flywheel we discussed about lighting I just wanted your guys to give me a little knowlege about this proccess. For the cost of the work it sounds like it's worth the money I guess it makes the quad rev super fast and the performance gains are tremendous. From what I hear it can really accent the rev box and cam. I haven't heard alot of talk about this process being done so if anyone has heard any negative things about this process please let me know. So far it sounds like it is worth the 75.00 - 80.00 bucks to have it done just tell me what you think. Thanks

So my bottom end will be hinderd slighty. Why is that can you explain I was under the impression that if I can keep the compression up and air intake upgraded that the flywheel will just help along with the rest of my mods.

The mods your doing will 1. make more hp 2. make your motor rev faster means quicker drags 3. will also give you more torqe. But you have to understand that the flywhell is a little heavy not much compared to a car but enough to slow the rev's down on the motor at low speeds, if you lighten it it will be very fractional what it takes away from the low end for you did bump the compression, So in short with the compression bumped you won't hurt that but you will let it rev even fast and gain HP for it takes less for the motor to turn it meaning quicker drag times. Easier starts as well.

Hello I will be having a WhiteBrothers R4 muffler, Ceramic coated headpipe, WhiteBrothers all around cam, WhiteBrothers Revbox, K&N filter, MotoForce intake system, OMF airscoops, Flywheel lightened, JE 10.5:1 high compression piston, R/D chromoly valvesprings. That is about it. What do you think. Thanks
