Nice bike, but the very first thing Yamaha says about it is a lie.

Yamaha’s name is synonymous with challenging and innovative designs, and the radical new XT660X is the first production supermotard to be offered by a non-European manufacturer.

Both Cannondale and ATK had supermotards last year

If I knew what a superMOTARD was, I might actually understand that point. Unfortunately, that 660 isnt the raptor's engine, its a 4 valve design pushing 48 hp with 10:1 compression. Of course, thats probably at the crank right? The raptor's approx stock figure of 33/35 is rw i think, but with 9:1 compression. Sound like very similar engines.

No, no one said it was the raptor engine. I was just making a comparison.

We all know that one day atv's will take the same steps others have already by being sfi from the factory. It may take someone building one and successfully racing it to start the process however.
