My raptor vs my friends new 450r
#1
My friend picked up hs new 450r on monday. We finally got too go riding together along with one of our other buddies for a bit this week. Around here we ride a local river and river bank this time of year due to the weather. All i can say about the honda is it is a damn nice quad! We did get a chance too drag each other when we were leaving in this field that lead too the river. We raced from about a 10 mph roll in first gear to eliminate holeshot probs one of us might have. Our other friend was at the other side of the field, and flashed his lights 3 times too signal go.
He jumped out about a quad length on me as soon as we hit it,we were even till about 4th gear on mine, and i started pulling on him,by shifting into fifth i pulled even with him and kept pulling past him. When we stopped, he said I had him by maybe 2 quad lengths. His machine is broken in, and completly stock. Mine is a 02 raptor with a slip on,k&n pro flow ,dj kit,and 12th front sprocket. Im NOT bashing the honda at all,so pleae dont respond by saying your friend couldnt ride or etc(he is a better rider than me anyways). I just thought i would post how this new machine faired against mine, for others can get a idea what it can do.

Nice. Good to hear a comparison.
I bet before long you'll hear some stories from the Predator Forum...
Yeah, I took my ugly stock Predaturd and whooped a 450R with a HRC kit, full exhaust, jetted up with Nos by 10 to 20 bike lenghts, depending on if I shift out of first gear. LOL

Bluethunder,
Thanks for the info. You mentioned you had a 12th front sprocket. Not knowing what the standard sprockets are on the raptor, what effect would this have on your overall accelleration and top end.
Also, given the 10 MPH roll, would this have more effect on the Raptor or 450R off the start. If I had to guess I would say it would help the raptor, but obviously I don't know so I am asking. The Raptors sure seem pretty mean once they hit second and third gear.
That was a helpful post.
