I know, why would you do that. Well, I have an atc70 that doesnt run and a lead on a good deal on a trx90 motor. The 70 motor would run with some tinkering I am sure, but the swap would be simple if it is possible.

 

i think it will interchange ,,, what year 70? i am looking for a 70 or trx 90 motor too,,, ,i have worked on both and didn't really look at them close enough to see exactly but i do thing it would be a easy swap, i am looking for a 90 motor to put in my 70x project trike,,,,,, here is a pict of itATC70X

 

Dude, that thing rocks. What are the specs on it? I have an 85atc70, running and an 83 blue atc70, not running yet.

 

That is absolutely the wildest looking ATC70 I've seen in years!! You did a great job on it.

I will put up some pics of my 1982 ATC in the next few days. I restored it with a "no limit" outlook. Put way too much in it, and yesterday, my daughter trashed the rod bearings and camshaft bearings. It was screaming louder than me shouting "Turn it off!!".....LOL
I figure oilpump failure for sure, but I haven't tore it down yet.

New everything........plastic,seat,tires,all bearings,brakes,cables,carburetor,recoil assembly,complete stator assembly with points, and other odds and ends. I have all the receipts and all are OEM Honda parts. Most of which aren't even available any more.

When I bought this thing, the engine itself was good. It was the only part I didn't touh other than spraying it with engine paint. I could probally have it fixed for a few hundred........but I'm already in the $1200 range and am at the point to where I would rather take my loss now........rather than get it to $1500 and sell it years later for half that..........realitys of life.
