going to put an e-series on my 400ex and need some advice
#1
I have a K&N atv power kit that has already been installed. I am currently running a 165 dynojet main, and i am running perfect, not rich or lean. If i put a white bros e-series pipe on my 400ex will i lose any power? will i gain a substancial amount? will i have to go to a smaller jet? or a larger jet? Is there any other pipe out there that is better than the e-series? i run with no airbox lid either. thanks

I have the k&n filter,wb rev kit and the e-series pipe. I run a 165 jet and was disapointed with the pipe at first. I added 3 discs to 15 total and WOW! Very impressive change. I want to try 3 more but I need longer bolts. It helped in the low end torque and well worth the 20.00 for the 6 pack. I wouldn't use the pipe with at least 15 now.

If you're installing the tail only...it comes from the factory with 12 discs installed...the correct amount for the ex. You WILL notice a huge difference in power increase especially down low. If you're installing the whole header and tail (highly suggested) you won't be able to keep her on the ground!
With the tail, you probably wont have to change your main jet...they design it that way. Time will tell when you run it. But if you install the whole system, at 1200 feet above sea level, I had to jump up from a 148 to a 158 main...honda jets, not dynojets.
Spend the few extra bucks and get the whole kit and kabootle! I'ts worth every dime for the header.

I'm thinking about getting the E-Series slip-on for my '00 400EX too, although I'd rather get the Pro Meg version with the head pipe...just can't seem to convince myself. I guess part of the reason is the difference in cost...$250 vs. $450...but the other thing that bugs me is that the WB head pipe doesn't come with any sort of heat shield. Has anyone adapted the stock shield to fit on the WB head pipe, or found one that fits onto it?

I also am thinking of buying a e-series. But I am Confused. It says e-series slip on. What is a slip on? the pipe or silencer? Also what is pro-meg?

If you are going to put a e-series on your quad. Take the disks out and leave them out. Mount the end cap directly to the silencer. The only thing the disks do is rob horsepower. Of course only do this if your riding area doesn't have a problem with sound.

The slip on means that the silencer slips onto your stock head pipe. The pro-meg means that it is a megaphone style silencer with discs.
