I have a 99 400ex with an e-series and I run a 170 main with 18 discs. As for the extra discs I noticed a gain in mid-range. I was under the assumption I needed longer bolts for the discs but I didn't. All 18 fit with the bolts that ame with mine stock. The only problem with the e-series is the mount cracks often. I had mine sent back and they sent me a new one witch broke also. Needless to say after having that one welded it broke again. I ened up making my own steal mount for it. It runs rich if you have to run with the air box lid on. Without the lid it runs great. I would take a look at the Pro-Circut pipe also. I've heard good things about it.

coryatver you are dumb if u dont know what a slip on pipe is. you dont deserve to have a 400ex. so what do u guys think about runnig 1 head pipe out each side of the 400 like a banshee. im gonna see if there is room and if there is im gonna get the 2 headpipes made and get yoshimura mufflers or big gun mufflers.

hey 4ooex. I thought about that too.. But from how i looked at it, You'd have to either relocate your battery, or remove it along with the toolbox. But image that power!! I hope you can get it done, if you do e-mail me.

If you do make sure you go with the Yoshi pipe!! It is tons better then the Big Gun. Just a thought from a neighbor.

NVR2L8, I saw a WB pro-meg complete system last summer on a 400EX- on that pipe there were two welded on nuts for the stock heat shield. I don't know if the guy did it himself, but it looked like it came that way from WB.

4ooex,
first off, NOONE in here is dumb for asking a simple question to better their atv knowledge. That was pretty ingnorant! Since you seem to know it all, you should already know that the DMC duel is already perfected for that.

Have you ever thought about an FMF Megamax slip on? That's what's on my quad. I put a K&N with an outerwears on it and a #152 honda main in it and no disks. The thing rips!! The difference is like night and day. I can keep up with banshees that have pipes on them.
I didn't buy the complete system due to lack of money, but if you can afford it go all the way. Be warned though your friends may become jealous
