Default What size/kind of rims for GNCC?

what do you guys recommend 9" 8" 10" re-inforcing rings? beadlocks?

i was thinking about going with 9" ITP baja's in the rear with 20" tires.

i already have a set of ITP's XC's 21" rears but there on 10" rims.

I've been using Hyper beadlocks. They are very strong. If you do happen to damage the wheel you can replace just the damaged part, not the whole wheel. They also are the only wheel with a warranty, but they are kind of expensive. I've also used douglas ultimate wheels with the conventional center. They held up great for me. They have the rolled lip like the stock wheels, but they are made of thicker aluminum, so a reinforcing ring isn't necessary. Don't get the regular .190s from any company, they are weaker than the stock wheels. I reccommend a 9 inch wheel.

9x9 seems to be one of the most popular sizes. If you have the money go for beadlocks. You can often find a used set on EBAY for not too much $$. The best , IMO, are the HiPer Beadlocks. That is what I will be running this year. As stated above, they have a 1 year warranty, you can replace only the broken piece rather than buying a whole new wheel, and for the fashion conscious - they lood AWESOME.

If you can't afford the beadlocks then either the douglas ultimate or ITP with the rolled edge or ITP's baja series with the reinforcement ring would be a good choice. I have raced for 2 years with an old set of ITP T-9 Edge series (rolled edge) wheels with not a single bend. I don't think they make these anymore, but you may be able to find some in old stock and get them for a good price since they are a d/c model. Good Luck
