Default Hours and Mileage - Buying EbaY

Hello,
I'm looking to sell my 350L pretty soon, and buy a 2003-2004 Sportsman 700.

Is the 2003 Sportsman better because of the grease fittings?

What I hear is that in 2004 they removed most of them.

I was also wondering if anyone has ever bought an ATV via EbaY, and if the transaction was smooth,
and if the information provided in the auction listing was correct.

I know that most cars start running rough and developing problems at the 100,000 mile mark,
but when do ATVs start deteriorating in performance?

If you are buying a used ATV, what is a good mileage/hourage to buy it at?

Any feedback on buying used ATVs?

They got ride of MOST of the grease fittings in '03. I think that there are still 3 left though. I bought my scram VIA ebay. One thing you want to do is ask LOTS of questions. Make sure you have very good communication with the seller. Call them directly. This is to big of a purchase for just emails. Make sure you agree on shipping and all that before you buy. Also, make sure they have a title and a bill of sale. Check with your local DMV for the steps needed to transfer from an out of state title. The only thing that I didnt like was the way the shipping company (Forward Air ) handled my crate. Make sure they will crate the machine, or include that price in the agrement. Be VERY careful with buying an ATV on ebay right now. There are TONS of scams going on. That is why I say to have contact VIA phone. And remember, if it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is. Go for the newer the better. I have seen Sportsmans with 15,000-20,000. So they will go for awhile. A lot of detailed pictures of specific areas are good to. The more the owner can tell you the better

I have a 2003 sp700 and they did get rid of the fittings but like he said there are some on
the drive line. The sp 700 tears it up in the snow and mud but you have to leave it in low range or you will burn the belt up. Remember the sportmans have rear wheel ebs and can be a hand full on steep hills some polaris rides like it I hate It.I cluched mine made a big dif off the line and jetted it for high alt and that made it more responsive.
