I guess the answer to that is, it really doesn't matter if valve clearance effects jetting because if your valves are out of adjustment, the effects will create a host of symptoms all of its own. if you have more then 20 hours on your motor, history dictates that they need adjustment any way. As always, I recommend that you fix those item that you know to be a problem before you attempt to sort out any others. Have you ever seen a cat chase its tale? this is 100% true! You will experience starting problems...it will seem rich...etc., etc.

Adjusting valves seems intimidating for someone that's never done it before...but it is actually a fairly straightforward task and is an extremely rewarding venture once delved into and accomplished.

that seems about right get the valves adjusted and then work the jetting, the one thing from reading the recent posts seems it isn't as easy to jet as the seat of the pants.

just wondering if it could be possible that my intake valves being tight could have been a cause in my headers glowing red.. i already jet richer and they still glow at night .. my dealer says thats normal, some people on here say its lean .. just got around to checking them yesterday .. i don't think i'll have a problem fixing the clearance .. just got to order some new shims..
