WHAT ARE GOOD ABOUT AFTERMARKET SHOCKS?
#2
Well, if you are just trail riding and basic recreational, works triple rates without rezzies will be plenty adequate. If you plan to race or jump really big, then you will probably need elkas or custom axis, but they are very expensive. The works will run you around 350.00, the elkas about 550.00, and any of the others are closer to 750.00-1000.00.

I dont have any yet on this quad, but they have always been the first mod Ive done on previous machines. I beleive that in most cases a good set of shocks will make a mechanically stock quad faster than a mechanically modded quad with stock suspension. But yes, I am desparately trying to get the wife to let me get some works for th front at least.

I had Elkas on my 400EX. The day I ordered my V Force, I ordered Elkas for it. I installed them yesterday. The difference is hard to describe. It's that good. They make the quad sit lower, which is good. Small bumps and ruts disappear. Cornering is incredible. The only bad thing about them is the impact they have on your wallet.

Another thing you might consider is buying new front shocks, and send your rear shock to be revalved for your weight, and made into a dual rate shock. There are many places that will do this. Cost would be about $300 compared to an aftermarket shock at approximately $550
