factory honda parts

you ever notice that if some one was so inclined that they could build a brand new 88 R if they wanted to? it would be expensive and you would have to find a radiator but honda still makes everything else, even bolts? i dont get why they cant just slap it all together and be the kings of that sport quad scene again. Yes.....alot of parts are discontinued. All parts for the 250R were put on the DD list in the Fall of 1999. The only parts not put on the list were those used on later model quads or motorcycles.
Since 1999, the parts on the shelf are THE 250R parts for the general public. When they are gone, they are gone. You can build maybe 85% of the quad with aftermarket parts, but you still have to have alot of OEM stuff to do it completely. Duncan racing,I know, has a large inventory of Honda 250R oEM parts that build bikes with. When they were bought, I don't know, but when you can't get it from your dealer, holler at them.
Off the top of my head, I know that both footpeg brackets, nearly all of the transmission parts, and the centercases are gone.
