Default Countrygirl'S Honda

OK, I took the right side crankcase cover off 2 replace the gasket & had it going bk together when a washer fell off.
So, i took cover back off & this time as I did the Kick Start shaft & gear came 1/2way off. What shoud I do now? I know how 2 line the marks & all but I dont know if theres something else I gotta do now since it came 1\2 way out.. Hope it's not too bad. It's on my 1996 Honda 300 fortrax 2wd.
If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

There shouldn't be any special steps other than, as you said, making sure the marks are lined. Are you unable to slide the kick-start shaft & gear back into proper position by hand?

Default Countrygirl's Questions

I got it slid back in there but apparently I didnt turn it far enough B4 I slid it up in there because After I put crankcase cover back on it wouldnt kick.
I got it took back off now. Guess I'll try again..Its real easy slide out a little & then it wants to spin back around to where I started .(shaft)
Is it supposed to be that easy to kick itself out?
Thanks very much for your reply, I appreciate it.
