I wouldn't even buy new. Just look on ebay or this site for a used one. I found a used one with less than 15 hours on it on atvtraderonline.com and only spent $4000.00 plus the guy threw in a Fox chest protector, tri-fold ramps and a Thor helmet. And I didn't even have to pay any sales tax and the thing was perfect! I saved over $2000.00 on buying used. Believe me, I just bought a new 450r and it already looks as used as the Z400 I just bought! Just my 2cents.

i would go new, i know from my own experience that i prefer to know the history of the vehicle(quad). you never know with going used how it was treated and kept up. I got mine for 4998 otd, that may be a good price for pa, but other states can get them for cheaper.

I bought my 04 for $4000 with about 10 hrs. on it. I have the paper work where the guy spent over $6200. I felt like I stole it from him but after seeing some of the prices that these guys are saying, I don't know that I did. Don't get me wrong, I love the thing and don't regret for a second buying it. It is not hurt at all. This is SC and otd around here around $5600.
All I can tell you is ride it hard before you buy it used. Treat it like you have owned it for a long time. If it holds up with no problems (skipping, smoking, bogs, etc.) it should be fine.
