Default Yamaha's lack of creativity

Ok, so here's the deal. Yamaha comes out with the 660 raptor. great bike, all new. Then they take their mini quad, swap out new plastic and don it the "mini raptor". The yfz comes out wit the same basic plastic design, and identical headlights. Now the warrior basically gets a cosmetic facelift with the same headlights and simlar plastic design. They have the idea to call this warrior in disguse a Raptor, to capitalize on the success of their former flagship.

With all the money these types of companies spend on r&d, I expected a more original approach to cosmetic design and branding. The raptor is a very sharp quad, as is the yfz. But what happens when the entire line looks the same??? When you see a quad running acrossed the dunes you will eventually have to stop the guy to ask him what flavor of "Raptor" he has. JMO, and a little venting on the idea that my quad's name has now been applied to the warrior. Its a great bike, but its not a raptor in my eye.

I think they are taking a page out of the Honda book. [Sportrax 90,250,300,400]

I think the name of the Raptor80 should be changed to.............."The quad formerly known as Badger80"

Then we could change the Raptor350 into something like.........."The quad formerly known as Warrior350 and nobody cares"

At least each of those have thier own distinct look. You can tell them apart from a mile away.

The last thing they should've changed on the Warrior was the plastic. There were too many other aspects of the quad that could've used updating, albeit at a higher price for Yamaha, but hey, our demands have changed since 1987, the Warrior hasn't.

If you'd actually read the side-by-side comparisons of the Warrior and the Raptor 350, you'd see that the Rap350 is about 20 lbs lighter and has better suspension than the outdated Warrior. If you could take an engine that you've come to trust and set it up in a lighter, more sportier frame, are you saying you wouldn't jump at the chance??? I know this could be a good start for those who like to race Warriors, but feel the need for better suspension. GO GET 'UM, YAMAHA!!!!....GOOD MOVE!!!!!
