well he's got it down to two quads both are in great shap.
the 500 sportsman is camo coulor it has 1700 miles and a winch and cuold use new tires.
the 600 grizz has a winch a plow and 2300 klms and could use a new set of tires also.
both are with in three hundred dollers of each other [the grizz being more]
this post is for him, so he can see what other people have to say about these two quads.

they are differant quads all together.
if you want power, with a solid axle, then get the grizzly. if you want a smoother ride, with better mudding ability's, get the sportsman.
my question is this though!
what is the prices on these? the sportsman has a real bad resale on it. the 2000 polaris quads are kind of solid, but have some faults. either the griz is going at a real cheap price, or the polaris sportsman is selling way too high.
if i were looking at the 2, i love independant suspencion, so i would get the sportsman. if your a higher speed trail rider, go with the grizzly.
i have to question the price of the sportsman though.

thay want $5800cdn for the griz and $5500cdn for the polaris.
and both quads are in very good shape.
but like i said thay both need tires.
i think hes going to get the grizz because of the plow.
thanks for the comments.

Just my opinion:I think that the price on both quads is high.I'm in MN but like he said, resale on Polaris's is bad.The Grizzly resale is not to good either being that the 2002 Grizzly is a whole new machine compared to the 98-2001 and anyone that has driven them both will admit to this.I guess I don't know what the price is there in B.C.I could be wrong, but I've seen them sell at auctions for 3000-4500.This is a Polaris price which seems to dominate auctions around here, which also makes you question them?Good luck to ya either way, just something to think about?

I'm pretty much pro-yamaha, but back then the Sportsman 500 dominated every shootout. I always wanted one, but shyed away due to the problems they had in the past. Most were minor, but a few horor stories. The Grizz 600 looked to be something awesome, but the design really wasn't anything to scream about. Given that both were around the same price and in identical condition, I would take the Sportsman hands down. The 4wd mechanism and IRS are enough to make that statement on. They used to race these two all the time, and they were pretty much neck and neck on what beat what. I've read it both ways far too many times to decide a favorite. Plus, the camo SP500 just looks cool.
