battery voltage...
#1
It is 0 degrees Fahrenheit in my garage where my ATV is and I was wondering what is an acceptable battery voltage reading would be? It seems like the voltage drops during the night. Any thoughts?

You really should be taking your battery inside when its cold, if you want it to last awhile. If it is a good battery, you will probably have around 11.8V. You want about 12.6 or higher for a good battery. Make sure it is not frozen either

I use a battery tender, charger plugged in all the time, and no matter how cold it gets, the battery is ready to go. If its run down, try recharging,.. if it wont hold a charge, get it load tested to see how good it is.

There was a very recent thread on Battery Tenders. I discovered a great deal at Wal-Mart for their 1.5v "floating" charge Trickle Charger. It's only 16.95 at my local store and can be left plugged in 24/7, it will maintain the battery at peak level then kick off and on as need be. Polaris' manual reads that the battery should have 12.8v I think. I just turn on my diagnostic mode on the speedo and it will tell you what's going on voltage wise. The trickle charger is really a no brainer though!
