CHAIN LUBE
#2
First off I never run anything except O-Ring chains. And I always use WD40 only. Don't tell me I will kill my chain either, I have 4 years on my 400EX chain, 3 years on my YZ250 chain. WD40 doesn't attract dust and dirt like chain lubes, which is why I use it. Keeps the o-rings clean and reples water, that's all I need.

Could someone explain to me what a X-Ring chain is and how it compares to a 0-ring chain.
As for right now I use a Castrol wax Lube but I don't really agree with the fact that it does'nt attract sand, because it does...can anyone suggest somthing better?

Never herd of a X ring chain. And being that the keys are so far apart i guess its not a typo. I don't know of any type lube that sand don't stick to. I kinda like the driveshaft thingy.

An x ring chain is basicly the same as an o ring chain its just that the o ring used is made from x section rubber, so ifyou were to cut one and look at the cut end it would be shaped like an x instead of just round.
The benifit of this is that it has less friction than a o ring type and has two contact points either side to seal in oil.

I use Silkolene synthetic racing chain lube the same lube I used for years on my dirt bikes. This lube is not to tacky and doens't sling all underneathe your plastic and a pain to get off.
I also have some PJ1 chain lube and it sux way too tacky, oils your chain real well but slings and sticks to everything making a mess.I usualy carry it for backup or lone it to people that don't have any hehe.
After I was my atv I only put WD-40 on my chain to keep from rusting while it sits up.I then put chain lube on it before I ride.
