Does anyone have these? Can someone else be the guinea pig this time? lol. I have had bad luck with aftermarket parts so far. I'd like to be more sure that I'm getting what I want this time.

I like the sound of adding a Steering Stabilizer. My arms got beat to death crossing the ruts in the sand earlier in the week. Does anyone have one out yet for the DS? I am going to take some of that preload off the front shocks as well.....the front end feels to stiff for my liking. Now if I was making huge jumps maybe but I am not the jumping kind of rider.

Scooby Thanks for all youre help you have really helped a lot of us out.I first installed a set of renthal cr hi bend handlebars and when the bars were turned all the way left or right they would come in contact with the gas tanks black plastic cover. It hit bad enough to dent and scratch it. After removing the renthals I took some measurments and determined that Pro Tapers which require a universal mounting kit would clear the tank, just bearly but it does clear. As far as the steering stabilizer I have no first hand info but I have heard good things.Hope this helps Bearman.

O.K. I will order a set saturday. I never could get the stock bars to feel right, and I'm not overly tall(6'1"). I also never had a steering stabilizer before but, my arms seem to pump quicker than they used to( don't know if it's old age or the bike) still need to get into better shape. I haven't raced in 4 years and I don't want to embarass the bike. I will wait on the stabilizer for now and let my arms handle it( 15" forearms and 21" biceps too many 12 oz. curls)
bearman- could you give me a number to call and some info on the bars you are talking about.
thanks all.

Try relaxing when you ride. I had this problem at first, trying to fight the steering. I just relaxed and let the bike correct itself, which it will do most of the time and it will go where you want it to. Sometimes you have to wrestle with it, but not much. I ride in very rutted dunes.

I was so pissed off at first, that I wanted to sell the damn thing. I could barely move my arms and I couldn't grip with my hands they hurt so bad.

I was used to lighter steering ATC's, namely the 350X. But, after a little experience with a quad, I have gotten used to the steering and the vastly superior suspension.

Good luck,

TKeeler, Don't forget to regularly lube your A-arm zerks. I've had to do mine a couple of times already. The joints seem very tight, so if the lube starts to run dry it makes a rubber squeaking sound if you compress the front shocks by pushing down on the front bumper. When you first take the DS out after lubing, you notice a big difference. Even so, I feel that the front shocks are too stiff for slow speed bumps. I am going to play around some more with the preload too. I'll be the first to say the DS needs fully adjustable (compression & rebound damping) aftermarket front shocks.
