The rear swingarm on the DS squeaks when it compresses. The sound is coming from the bolt on the top of the rear shock. I don't see any zerks for this chassis point. The only solution I see is to take the chassis apart at the top of the rear shock and lube the thing. The problem is it looks like a pain in the neck to do!

Scooby,
I also had this problem and it was easy to fix. The top shock bolt is to tight, loosen up on it a little bit and this should fix your problem.

Texds650, You were right, way too tight. I actually removed the bolt and lubed the bearing just to be sure I would have no more squeaking. I needed to detach the rear shock anyway to adjust the preload. The lock nuts were too tight and I had to jack the DS up so the swingarm would drop way down and postion the rear shock so I could work on it and free up the lock nuts. With the front and rear preload loosened up, the center of gravity of the DS is lower. The rear spring seemed too short for the shock when the preload was at the minimum setting. With the preload at the minimum and the DS jacked up, the rear spring could move an inch before touching the lock nuts. Very odd! I also have been adjusting the damping and rebound. I'll see how the DS handles Sunday if I go riding.
