Has everyone been taking their quads back to the dealer for the '10 Hour Inspection'? I just hate taking any of my vehicles to service shops. There are several items to check that I am not capable of testing though, at least tool wise. The dealer putting the synthetic oil in Scooby's quad is a good example of why those places scare me. They probably ride our quads like the rental car lot boys drive the rental cars around.

What are the warranty implications of skipping the dealer 10 Hour Inspection?

I did my own 10 hour service and the valves did need adjustment so when I bought the shims the dealer told me that the other ds they sold had them do the sevice and his valves needed adj. also. It really wasn't bad with the manual but I wouldn't blow it off( mine ran better after)

My DS isn't running as good as when new. I had the 10 hour service 6 months ago. How often do you need to adjust the valves?

Scooby- The manual shows every 200 hours or two years, this is probably great for the weekend warrior fun rider. I am not sure but judging from your posts your DS is modified and you ride hard (staying up on rpm's) which is what it is made for but the stresses on valve spring from continual high rpm's increases the inspection frequency ( I would check lash every other month) and remove and check the spring compresion yearly, unless you notice a drop in upper rpm range then replace as soon as possible.
